Kittens
Saucer
For
the ladies who just want to lap up something sweet...
Vanilla
Kiss
17
We
just couldn’t let her go. Our very own apple martini, we have Russian Standard
Vodka shaken
with
Licor 43, Elderflower cordial and Apple Juice.
Cat
and Dog Sour 17
Anyone
who watched UK telly in the 80’s will remember this little duo of Rhubarb and
Custard.
Aperol
and Licor 43 married at last by Reverend Lemon Juice. And happily ever after
they did live
Japanese
Slipper 17
We
all know it, we all love it, but guys would never let their mates see them with
it. Melbourne’s very
own
classic from Jean Paul Bourguignon in 1984 brings together Midori, Cointreau
and Lemon.
Order
this and see everyone go green with envy. I can’t believe I cracked that joke
here. Bad times.
Sparkling
Chat to Land a Frenchy and a Swede 17
A
saucy way to go here. Cariel Vanilla vodka seduced by
myself and Lady Chambord for a beautiful
ménage
a trois involving lots of Champagne. Grrrr tiger, I’m a naughty one.
Twisted
Classics
Taking
something old and making it new again......
Cherry
Red Martini 18
Interesting
mix of Russian Standard, Stoli Rasberri, Maraschino Liqueur and a touch of
Campari.
This
competition winner from the Bonnie Isle has been donated generously by, well,
me.
Skye
Lady 17
A
simple Scottish twist on a White Lady. Drambuie, Cointreau and Lemon Juice. If
Bonnie Prince
Charlie
had this waiting for him he would have rowed that boat twice as fast.
Blueberry
Carr 18
Freshening
up the classic Sidecar for summer. Blueberry, Lemon, Vanilla, Cointreau and
Cognac
A
fine tribute to Harry McElhone.
Rum
and Raisin Sazerac 19
Brilliant
mix of Orange Marmalade, Raisin Infused Cognac, Bacardi 8 rum, Peychauds
bitters
and
a hint of Vanilla, strained into an Absinthe rinsed glass. Not to be missed.
Bejewelled
Sour 17
A
few of these ones and it will be any Port in a storm for you. Classic Whisky
sour tickled pink with
a
Tawny Port foam. More texture than a Damien Hurst piece.
Sands
of Islay 18
If
you like your Islay malts then this is for you. Peaty Ardbeg 10yr, Mandarin
Juice, Antica Formula
and
Cherry Heering work amazingly well to create our take on the Blood and Sand.
Mexican
Markee 17
Raspberry,
El Jimador tequila, Chambord, lemon and Cranberry. A lighter way to enjoy your
tequila
with no lime or salt in sight. Deeeeelightful.
Forgotten
Classics
Old
classics rarely seen anymore. Made us sad so we’re bringing them back......
Bellini
15
One
of THE original sparkling cocktails. Created 1934 and name after the pink hues
of the
paintings
of Giovanni Bellini. White Peach puree, and some Sparkling. Simple.
Japanese
Cocktail 18
Oddly
not connected in any way to Japan. This classic was first mentioned in Jerry
Thomas’ 1862
bible
‘How to Mix Drinks, or the Bon Vivants Companion’. Cognac stirred with Orgeat
and the newly
resurrected
Bokers Bitters (thanks to Adam Elmegirab). We think it’s great when history
comes alive’ again.
(Improved)
Holland Gin Cocktail 18
An
1876 update from Jerry Thomas of the Fancy Gin Cocktail. Bols Genever,
Maraschino liqueur,
Pernod,
and Bokers bitters. This is very potent, but one of my all time favourites.
Martinez 18
The
origins of this little sipper are uncertain. Maybe created by Jerry Thomas for
a customer who
travelled
to Martinez, California every day, or by a bartender called Martinez who
combined Gin and
vermouth.
What we do know is that it’s the precursor to the Martini, and its bloody
tasty. Bokers Bitters,
Old
Tom Gin, Maraschino and Martini Rosso.
Mary
Pickford 17
This
fruity little number was created in the 1920’s for America’s sweetheart of
the same name by
a bartender at Hotel Sevilla in Havana. Havana Blanco rum, Maraschino liqueur,
Pineapple juice and
a
splash of Grenadine.
Bobby
Burns 18
Named
after Scotland’s favourite poet, Robert Burns, by another of the greats of the
drink world,
Harry
Craddock, at the Savoy Hotel in London in 1925. Monkey Shoulder combines with
Antica
Formula
vermouth and Dom Benedictine.
El
Diablo 17
Credited
to Tiki’s favourite son, Trader Vic in 1947. This refreshing drink adds muddled
limes and
Crème
de Cassis to a base of El Jimador tequila. Served long over crushed ice and
topped with
Ginger
Ale, this is definitely one for the summer sun.
Dark
and Stormy 18
Awesome.
This drink is the national drink of Bermuda, where it has been trademarked by
Goslings
rum.
Served in our own RTD style, lime and sugar are mixed with the brilliant Goslings
Black Seal
Rum, and topped with Ginger beer.
Mint
Julep 17
First
recorded in 1803, this simple drink has been a hallmark of the Kentucky Derby
horse race ever
since.
Makers Mark bourbon, Mint and Peach bitters mixed with crushed ice. Easy as.
Red
Lion 17
Created
by Arthur Tarling of Cafe Royal in London, this beverage took 1st
prize at the London
cocktail
competition of the same year. Tanqueray Gin, Grand Marnier, Pineapple, Orange
and a
splash
of Grenadine.
Brandy
Alexander 18
Allegedly
created at the time of the wedding between Mary, Princess Royal and Viscount
Lascelles in
London
in 1922, this creamy number really needs no introduction. Cognac shaken with
White and
Dark
Crème de Cacao and cream.
Pegu
Club 17
Named
after the social club of the same name just outside Rangoon in Burma, and
written about by
the likes of Rudyard Kipling, this is somewhat of a controversial drink with
regards to the origins.
Claimed
by Harry Craddock of the Savoy in his 1930 book, it actually first appears
in 1927’s barflies
and cocktails by Harry McElhone of Harry’s New York Bar in Paris. Gin, Cointreau,
Lime and Bitters.
Moscow
Mule 17
This
drink came about in 1941when John G Martin of Hublein, inc of East Coast
Spirits acquired the
rights
to Smirnoff Vodka in the USA. He met Jack Morgan of the Cock and Bull tavern
who had a
surplus
of Ginger Beer. They mixed the two and voila, the Moscow Mule was born. This
drink began
the massive vodka craze that swept America. Russian Standard Vodka, Lime,
Sugar, Bitters and
topped with Ginger Beer.
Corpse
Reviver #2 17
Invented
as a hangover cure by Harry Craddock in 1930, it was said to be potent enough
to revive
a
corpse. However, it came with a warning that 5 drunk in quick succession would
subsequently
un-revive
the corpse. Plymouth Gin, Lillet Blanc, Cointreau and a splash of Absinthe.
Red
Earl Martini 17
From
the Maestro Salvatore Calabrese we get this. Ginger and Raspberries are shaken
with vodka,
Limoncello
and some Sugar. Refreshing.
Fog
Cutter 20
Absolute
Tiki classic. From trader Vic’s 1972 Bartenders Guide comes this ballsy
concoction.
Rum,
Gin, Brandy, Orgeat, Orange and Lime are topped off with some delicious sweet
sherry.
This
is strong, but so so moreish.
Between
the Sheets 17
Depending
on who you believe, this drink was either created at Harry’s New York Bar in
the 1930’s
or
as early as 1921 by Mr Polly of the Berkeley Hotel in London. What I can tell
you for certain is that
it
rocks. Rum, Cointreau, Cognac, Lemon
La
Paloma 17
We
know nothing about the history of this drink, it just seemed to have appeared
one day.
Super refreshing, we combine Tequila with Pink Grapefruit juice, Lime Juice
and a cheeky pinch of Salt.
Detroit
Martini 17
From
London’s Detroit bar we get this mix of Medos Honey Vodka, Russian Standard,
Mint and
Orange
Bitters.
Coffee
Cocktail 18
Confusingly
not actually containing any coffee, this heavy cocktail is another of Jerry
Thomas’ from the
1800’s.
Tawny Port and Cognac are shaken very hard with a secret ingredient. A great
way to finish.
Proper
Barry Batida
17
You
take some Sagatiba Cachaca, some Cranberry, Viollete liqueur, lemon and a
cheeky Scotsman
and
boom, you’ve arrived. Different but refreshing. Proper Barry, eh pal...
Pete
the Drink 17
Come
meet our new mate Pete. He’s awesome. Tequila, Rosemary and Pomme Vert Apple
Liqueur
shaken
with some sugar then given a nice Campari spike. Looks great, tastes better.
Whisky
Thyme 18
See
what we did here? We took some whisky, threw in a bit of Thyme, lovely Lemon
juice and a
drop
of fruity bitters then splashed some Crème de Mure on top, thought of a name
and chucked
it
on the menu. Bloody geniuses we are.
The
Grapes of Staff 17
Fresh
as bro. Ciroc vodka, a nice New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and some Apple juice
walk into a bar.
Barman
throws some Crème de Mure at them. They get along. Choice.
Monkey
Vs. Goat 18
Inspired
by the weird You-tube videos of freaky events that are so wrong they’re right.
We take
Pink
Grapefruit, Plymouth Sloe Gin, Monkey Shoulder Triple Malt Whisky and a hint of
Orgeat and
then
crown them with some Mountain Goat Steam Ale. Brilliant.
Fig-ure
This Out 18
Seriously,
because we can’t. Cognac, Maraschino liqueur, some Cherry Heering and lemon.
And
no Fig. But it tastes Figgy, or so we reckon.
Napoleons
a Bit Sour 17
Well,
wouldn’t you be? Mr McKean is to blame for this tasty little number. Aperol, Mandarin
Napoleon,
our
old friend Mr Lemon and a splash of Yellow Chartreuse.
We’re
pretty sure Mr Bonaparte would have approved.
Pink
Chill 18
Very
subtle, aromatic little number this one. Hendricks Gin, Crème de Myrtille,
Blueberries, Mint ,
Lime
and Peychauds bitters come together in an Absinthe rinsed glass. This season
pink is definitely
in,
and it’s coming in layers.
